We meet with you for an initial, no-cost consultation to determine your needs. We learn about your business or organization, your audience, and your goals. We also discuss your project requirements and timeline. If you are uncertain about what you need, we share our experience with similar projects to help you clarify your requirements.
Project proposal
We write up a two- to three-page proposal that summarizes:
- What we learned from our meeting
- Our deliverables
- Team members
- Production tools
- Estimated cost
- Development schedule
Design and implementation
Once we have your approval, we begin to gather information. During this phase, you'll see prototypes and updates to ensure that we are meeting or exceeding your expectations. Should you have additional requirements or need major changes, we'll negotiate the additional costs.
- Documentation. We talk to your company experts, develop an initial outline, refine it, and then begin writing. When required, we bring in our graphic designer to develop a template “look” and cover design for the document, as well as to discuss illustrations that are needed. We base our designs on our knowledge of the audience and how they are likely to use the document.
- Web sites. We provide a couple of prototypes that show you the “look” of the Web site and the primary, secondary, and tertiary navigation for the site. We provide you with a detailed site architecture document so you know exactly what information will appear where on the site and how users will navigate to each page. After the site architecture document is approved, we build the site. You’ll have opportunities to try out early builds. We complete extensive testing during development and after we upload the site to your Web host.
- GUI design and usability testing. We vary our approach depending on the level of involvement you require. Some of the steps we may take include interviewing the customer and the developers, evaluating the current product, designing prototypes, performing usability tests, and writing an analysis.
Maintenance
Keeping your documentation and Web sites up-to-date helps you get the most from your initial investment. Whether you need an update or a significant enhancement, we can provide you with the same timely and high-quality results you learned to expect from us.
The technologies we use during implementation are chosen for their robustness, security, technical capabilities, and industry acceptance, so you can be sure that what we deliver will be easy to maintain and provide you with ongoing benefits.
